JOINING INSTRUCTIONS

Dear Delegate:

Re: C:ORE Risk Conference 4-6 October 2019.

We hope you are looking forward to the event and that you have enjoyed the regular social media (Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn) announcements and mailshots building up to the event.

Please see a copy of the joining instructions below (already emailed to you). An electronic conference programme with lecture venue details, maps and helpful information, has also been sent to you by email - as is available in hard copy in your delegate bags at the event.

So, without further ado, please see the following:

Payments:

If anyone hasn’t yet made payment, please do so as soon as possible.  If you need facility to pay online by credit card, please email us and we can send a credit card payable invoice option to you by email (there is a link where delegates can use a credit card to pay via PayPal – without the need for a PayPal account).

Programme:

The programme is online to view. You will see we have added in additional speakers and sessions.

Dietary or health details:

If there is anything that we need to know that you haven’t already told us on your booking form, please let us know – issues such as dietary requirements, allergies, health issues and accessibility issues – so we can pass them on to the venue.

Accommodation:

If you haven’t booked your accommodation yet, please do so asap. We aren’t involved with accommodation booking as it is not included in the conference fee. You will see details to contact the venue direct on the venue page of the website. Please contact them direct as we understand online booking websites may reflect the venue as full because availability has not been communicated to the websites due to our event.

Social Media:

As per the website, please follow us on social media for updates – there have been very regular updates. Please also give the event a ‘Share’ on social media so that we can grow the C:ORE Risk family.

Arrival:

Please see the venue website for post codes (for sat nav) and a map:

https://www.pyb.co.uk/contact/

Arrival time is from 12.30pm on Friday 4th October to departure at 4pm on Sunday 6th October.

When you first arrive on Friday 4th October, please park in the main car park (on the left, just after the Plas Y Brenin sign on the road). Please leave your bags in the car as you won’t be able to get into your accommodation until late afternoon. Check in at reception, which means walking back up to the main road, turning left and reception is at the front of the building and will be sign-posted! You will be issued with an event Lanyard, receipt for your conference delegate fee - and a delegate goodie bag :).

Overseas Visitors:

For overseas visitors - when you are driving to Plas y Brenin, please be aware that the roads in Wales can be very narrow, and curve tightly around the sides of the hills. 100% stick to the speed limit everywhere, as there are a lot of speed cameras and police in this part of the country. There are usually also a lot of motorbikes!

Things to bring with you:

A torch and spare batteries would be helpful. Pens, paper etc will be made available in  delegate packs. A spoon (all will be revealed).

Mobile phone/cell reception:

There is very little mobile/cell phone reception at the venue (we’re in the mountains after all!) but there is wifi. The network is PYB-PUBLIC.

Yoga:

Some yoga mats will be provided for the Saturday morning session, but if you want to bring your own feel free. Also bring comfortable clothing to do this in!

Early Morning Walk:

There will be an early morning walk (not challenging) on Sunday morning so please bring outdoor walking gear (including waterproofs and warm clothing) if you’re planning on joining us.

Bar:

Please bring cards or cash to pay for drinks at the bar. It will be open until 12.30 am Saturday 5th October 2019…

Coffee and Tea:

Coffee and tea will be available throughout, so please feel free to bring your flask/re-usable cup!

Lunch prior to the conference starting:

The Siabod cafe, a mile or so from the conference venue is a popular, large eatery. Suitably, for the subject matter of the conference, the conference venue will have a school group in attendance until not long before the conference opens, hence the conference starting post lunch.

Scones at the Siabod cafe are mountainous and highly recommended (particularly with jam and cream ;)…).
